Drivers Briefing
If you are unwell in anyway, DO NOT ATTEND, regardless of any test results.
The following applies to everyone racing at club:
- Do not park in the street, park in the car park only. Please pull as far forwards as possible and use all the space available in the car park. Don’t worry about blocking people in, they’re all in the centre anyway!
- Help pack the track down, we’re only asking for a few minutes help to get it all away.
- We don’t have bins unfortunately, you will have to take any rubbish back home with you sorry.
- Do NOT attend if you have not entered via the website, entries and payments are online only (spectators are welcome without prior arrangement).
- All tables must be protected with a pit mat, towel, or similar.
- Supply your own hi-vis vest for marshalling
Racing
- Ensure that you provide your BRCA number correctly when entering, as these will be checked prior to your entry being finalised.
- When race is over, exit the rostrum, collect your car and place it onto the table by the rostrum. Then go straight to your marshal point (small orange cones!)
- Wear your hi-vis when marshalling.
- We aim to provide practice, 4 rounds of qualifying and 1 final for everyone, but this may vary depending on how many help with the setup and pack down.
- DO NOT pin the throttle after a crash, this can lead to the following outcomes:
- Injury to marshals – spinning tyres burn, going flat out where you shouldn’t causes injury too
- Damage to carpet – the carpet melts and the corner will not give way to your car
- Pushing your car and the car you’re tangled with further away from the marshal who is trying to help.
- Launching your car straight into another crash
- LiPo batteries must be charged in a LiPo bag. Only Hard case 2S LiPos are to be used.
- Drivers are responsible for their own timing equipment and ensuring that they cross the loop to allow their laps to be counted. Laps will not be added unless the issue is with the timing computer or loop system
- Racers are not allowed to enter race control
- Do not leave the rostrum during the race.
Housekeeping
- Park in the car park only, do not park outside our neighbour’s homes. There should be enough space to fit everyone in if you use all the space available.
- Rubbish –take your own rubbish home with you. There are no bins in the venue.
- No food and drink outside of the pit area.
- The designated smoking area is the only place it is permissible to smoke or vape
- Children are the responsibility of the parent/supervising adult at all time. If you have juniors with you please ensure they are under your supervision at all times and they respect the personal space of others
- First Aid kit is kept at Race Control – please let a member of the committee know if you need to use it.
Help pack away the track at the end of the night. Many hands make light work, club’s not over until it’s all away!
By entering the meeting you agree to abide by all of the above, plus the rules regulations of the club (Caldicot RC Racers General Rules), BRCA (www.brca.org), the venue and the government guidance.
